You love me?

When I left the house early this morning Gene was holding Ivy and I leaned in, kissed both of them and said, "bye, love you".  To this Ivy replied, "bye, love you".

My heart melts....

Ferris Klayman's Day Off

The stars were aligned when daycare was open and Gene and I had a day off from work - thank you Martin Luther King Jr.!  We dropped the kids off and headed to LuLuc for breakfast.  It was 9:30am when Gene ordered steak with fries.  The waiter gestured with his hands showing the size of the steak, in an attempt to confirm that this crazy person was indeed ordering a dinner size portion of steak for breakfast. Gene just nodded with a big grin on his face.
Next stop was movies at the Pavillion, also known as the P Lion.  We saw Her and then snuck in to see American Hustle.  Gene loved the artificial intelligence aspect of Her and I was fond of Christian Bale's performance in American Hustle.
Since we were right next to Prospect Park we decided to check out the new ice skating rink.  Google navigation doesn't work too well in the park so we roamed around for 45 minutes before finally finding it.
We realized ice skating isn't nearly as romantic as it seems and decided that drinking is much more up our alley.  That's Gene pretending to ice skate.
This is a bar that we've had on "our list" for a while so it was great to finally check it out.  It did NOT disappoint.

We picked up the kids and went to Chez Moi, where Violet and Ivy devoured 2 baskets of bread and three servings of butter.
It was a GREAT day!

The Golden Age

Wikipedia defines the Golden Age as a period of primordial peace, harmony, stability and prosperity.  I define the Golden Age as a period in a child's life when their younger sibling is able to walk but unable to talk.  During this very brief period (typically when the younger child is between the ages of 1 and 2)  the older child is able blame their sibling for anything and everything without rebuttal.

Who painted our walls with markers?  Ivy did it!  Who spilled urine all over the bathroom floor (don't ask)? Ivy did it! Who broke the Christmas ornaments? Ivy did it! You get the point.

No one will ever know the real answer to these questions but I do know that Violet is enjoying her Golden Age.

Mexico!

Violet said that Santa should get 3 cookies because she's 3 years old. She was also very concerned about the milk going bad.
The real reason we had children.
