This was the first Fourth of July that we didn't spend in the Hammies, but it was a great day nonetheless. We spent the morning strolling Cobble Hill, Brunching at Chez Moi and just enjoying some quality family time. In the afternoon, we crossed the bridge and headed into Staten Island for some BBQing, splashing in the pool and hanging out with our families.
It's great seeing the kids grow up together and watching their love for each other continue to grow. This was especially evident when I witnessed a very tender moment between Ari and Violet yesterday. Violet was playing with an empty bottle of bubble solution and getting frustrated that no bubbles were coming out. Ari just happened to be passing by and noticed her annoyance. He came up to her and said, "Violet, there is no soap in there. Go ask mommy to fill it up for you. We have tons of soap at home." It was the sweetest thing to hear such compassion from such a young boy. I was even lucky enough to capture the moment on film.
